It was such a relief for me to find someone with a similar problem and how they live with it. I think that without reading your book and seeing how you have lived with it, I would have been a lot more nervous about the op and scared about the outcome.

Graham Webb is one of Britain's great life – enhancers. He brought wit and imagination to CBI (Confederation of British Industry) meetings when I was Director – General, - qualities which are often in short supply.

Sir Howard Davies. Director, LSE - London School of Economics and Political Science. Former Deputy Governor of the Bank of England; Director – General of the CBI; Chairman, Financial Services Authority.

Your book is a fascinating cross between an inspiring personal story and a brilliant 'how to' book on building a business.

Dr DeAnne Julius Bsc. CBE Chairman, Chatham House - The Royal Institute of International Affairs. Director of BP; Lloyds TSB; andFounder Member of the Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee.

He is the most enthusiastic networker in business I have ever met! His autobiography 'Out of The Bottle' is a true 'rags to riches' tale in the face of adversity.

ANDREW MAIN WILSON. CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER, INSTITUTE OF DIRECTORS, PALL MALL, LONDON, UK.

It is such a good feeling to know that someone from the bottom class not only made it, - but got an MBE honour from the Queen as well!

    ROSEMARY PARKER, LONDON, UK

Throughout the course of his surgery and treatment, he was always upbeat and positive about the future outcome of his corrected problem and life in general. He is a man of great devotion to his wife, children, friends, business and music. I am going to make his book mandatory reading for my surgical residents.

DR. Lowell Scott Weil, DPM, FACFAS Chief of Staff Weil Foot & Ankle Institute Des, Plaines, Illinois USA

I do think your story is emotionally moving and truly inspiring

    Joannie Silver Weaver. Minneapolis, USA.

The amazing thing about the book is realising just how well you succeeded in bringing up four children, all of whom are a credit to you they have not brought any of the normal issues, drugs, booze, crime in to your lives and to balance that with starting and building your own business, plus then expanding that success in to the States is truly remarkable.

Geoff Britton. Former drummer The Keys, Wild Angels, East of Eden, Paul McCartney 'Wings', Manfred Mann. Currently drummer in The Rockets, Javea, Spain.

Really enjoyed your book. It shows the importance of networking, of working hard, and of not being afraid to put yourself out there – even if you have a problem that others might think should hold you back.

Steve Siler Director Music for the Soul

Graham Webb is a one in a million person. It is hard to find in one man all the characteristics that he possesses. He is a successful business - man as well as a dedicated father and husband.

    Liberty DeVitto, Billy Joel

You truly are the "success story" that we all hear about. I love the passion you have for all your endeavors, your sense of adventure and chance, and above all your sense of humor no matter where life has taken you, or in fact, where you have taken life.

Jon Cohan. Drummer / Author - "Drum Heaven – all things LOUD!" Boston. USA.

HUGE – your book is incredible! I am proud to know you and to call you a friend.

In one's lifetime - we are graced with fortunate moments of life-giving inspiration. Meeting Graham (and his family) (and reading "Out-of-The Bottle") I can count as many of those fortunate moments.

An inspirational work – I heartily recommend this book to one and all.

I was a cabin mate on the P&O ship SS Himalaya with Graham and we had many long talks while working together in the steamer shops storerooms at night. I had trouble understanding why Graham was worried about his future - we had a fantastic job, excellent team spirit, and i felt we were very privileged. Now that I know a lot more about his real problems at the time, I understand. It must have cost Graham a lot of energy to hide his symptoms and worries from me and the other colleagues. It was wonderful to work with graham. He was special, and at that young age already an extraordinary personality. Thank you Graham for sharing your wonderful story with me, 40 years later.

    Your old Cabin mate Willi

Having finished Out Of The Bottle, I feel humbled. Graham's life is an inspiration to all and a gripping story. His remarkable attitude is mirrored in the lives of all successful people... sheer unadulterated enthusiasm!

    Ralph Salmins

Graham's account of his life and the honesty with which he dealt with a very sensitive aspect of disability, left me full of admiration for his spirit and courage. Graham's story is an inspiration to anyone - disabled or otherwise - and an example to those of us who take good health for granted.

Betty Howell, Chief Executive, Compaid Trust, UK

I feel that Graham's book "Out Of The Bottle" is a fascinating first-person account by a bonafide genie and genius.

Dear Graham. Many thanks for your delightful letter. I’m off on holiday in a couple of weeks time and I look forward to taking your book with me to read. Thank you for the kind words about Virgin Atlantic.

    SIR RICHARD BRANSON, VIRGIN GROUP

Through his rise as a 'brand', with Graham Webb products and academies, to his work as an international ambassador to the company after P&G acquired it, Graham harboured a secret. He suffered from handicaps associated with a congenital defect. In an industry where appearances mean so much, Graham became an enormous success. I heard one of his speeches recently in Chicago. Graham was very frank about how the condition shaped his life, but his message was far from downbeat.'Define yourself in your own way,' he urged the audience.'Create your own joy and happiness. Dreams come a size too big – to allow us to grow into them.' To face the negative with a brave heart, and to share yourself with others – that's what Graham preaches.

MARY ATHERTON, EDITOR–IN-CHIEF, MODERN SALON MAGAZINE USA

'YOU CAN DO IT!' - I bumped into Graham Webb the other day – one of Kent's most inspirational characters, who is just off again to America on a two – week speaking tour. Born on a south London council estate with congenital Spina Bifida, Graham was told he would never have children or a career. So he went out, began a chain of hairdressing salons, developed a hair care range which he sold for a fortune, took up drumming, married, had kids and wrote a book. And he still finds time to represent Kent as an ambassador and advise the county's up- and- coming entrepreneurs. Graham's motto is: 'It CAN be done.' He's certainly proved it.
